The group is conducting research in the area of chemical recovery process, wastewater treatment, solid waste handling and management. It also provides services like environmental audit and assessment. The projects are sponsored by Indian Paper Manufacturers Association (IPMA), Indian Agro and Recycled Paper Mills Association (IARPMA), Ballarpur Industries Ltd. (BILT) and other industries. 3. Improvement/ optimization of dewatering of fibrous sludge and biosludge
